Spring in Salida

The snow starts melting and the trees start budding. Salida comes alive with the first hint of spring. Breakout the roller blades, skate boards, mountain bikes, fishing poles, kayaks, and motorcycles to get them ready for the "season". Monarch Ski Area closes and every body gets spring fever. The golfers start visiting the local course and trailers, boats, and convertibles star coming out. Gardeners get the fever and sometimes plant a bit too early.

Springtime in the Rockies is magic. It is a symphony punctuated with early blooming flowers and slushy spring snowstorms. Not winter--not summer--a truly Rocky Mountain Spring.
