Autumn in the Heart of the Rockies provides a wonderland of colors and sites. Our aspens and other decidous trees begin their spectacular show about the middle of September. Nothing is more breathtaking than the site of a golden mountainside shimmering yellow with aspen leaves on a backdrop of dark green coniferous forests or bright tongues of gold licking their ways down from the mountainsides through stands of black timber. We say farewell to summer with a sigh as the nights get chillier, frost covers the garden and the wood stove emits earthy, woody fragrances. But the chill heralds a wonderful new season. |
